Ordering event tickets

Please note that this FAQ section does not relate to event tickets, which are processed via email only and generate a guest list for our events. We will not send out physical copies of tickets.

How will my order be processed?

Orders will only be processed during Golden Hare Books opening hours (10am-6pm). As soon as we receive your order, one of our booksellers will check the product is in stock and take it off the shelf to be sent to you.

What if the book I ordered isn't in stock or is damaged?

We try to keep our online stock inventory updated constantly, but there may be the odd occasion when the book ordered online has already been sold, or is found to be damaged. In this case, an additional working day will be required to fulfil your order as we source another copy; if it is not in stock with our supplier, we will contact you. If you have ordered other books, we will send these straight away and post the remaining book once it has been received free of charge.

How will my book be packaged?

We want receiving a book from the Golden Hare online just as special as if you had bought it in-store, so packaging is important. Your book (or books) will be wrapped in tissue paper, sealed with a branded sticker and wrapped carefully with a cardboard book wrap. You will also receive a bookmark and a hand-written note.

My order is a gift - can you post to the recipient?

Yes, absolutely. At checkout, just tick whether a certain book is a gift and for a small extra cost we will wrap the books even more specially, as well as including a card with gift message which you can specify. If you have other items shipping to your own address, just email us after placing your order to let us know where your gift should go.

Shipping & Returns

How long will it take to ship my order?

All purchases placed on this website will be manually processed by one of our booksellers at Golden Hare Books. If you place your order before 4pm we will endeavour to process and dispatch it the same working day, if not the following working day.

Estimated postage times

UK 1st class: 1-2 working days
UK 2nd class: 2-3 working days

EU: 5-7 working days

Rest of World: 7-9 working days

Can I collect from the store on the same day?

We’ll absolutely try! It just depends when your order comes through and how busy we are. We try to turn around our deliver-to-shop service within 24 hours and will notify you as soon as your order is packed up and ready for you. Feel free to get in touch at the shop!

I changed my mind / The book I ordered is wrong/damaged - can I return?

Yes, of course! Please return the book to us in mint condition and we will issue a refund as soon as we can. We can also offer an exchange if the book was damaged in transit.
