After a fantastic Bookshop Day yesterday including macarons, clarsachs and poetry, we thought the Sunday of Bookshop Day should be all about the little ones! With this in mind, our kids’ bookseller Chris put together a great Crafternoon so kids could make their own bookmarks, complete with bells and whistles!
From frogs and rabbits to cats and fairy wands, kids of all ages and abilities had a great time being creative and messy making all sorts of bookish accessories. Keeping the kids busy was the perfect way to allow grownups to have a browse around, and we served up healthy snacks for the little ones, coffee for the adults!
The Crafternoon brought to a close our Books Are My Bag celebrations for 2016, and what a wonderful weekend it’s been. We can’t thank everyone who came along to join in on the festivities enough for supporting us and all physical bookshops! It’s always so gratifying to see people’s appreciation for bricks and mortar bookshops, and hopefully it was fun for everyone who came along too. Until next year, keep those orange tote bags flying!
