GOLDEN HARE MASTERCLASSES: Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Book Deals (but were too afraid to ask)

March 28 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

£16.00

An author, an agent and an editor walk into a bookshop – and answer all your questions about getting published! When do you know your book is ready to send out? What do agents do all day? How do editors pick their titles?

Join Claire Askew (ALL THE HIDDEN TRUTHS), Louise Lamont (LBA Books) and Genevieve Herr (Scholastic) at Golden Hare Books for some light myth-busting about the publication process, followed by one-to-one Q&A sessions for individual advice.

What to expect

A unique opportunity to hear from an editor, a literary agent and a published author in a friendly environment, with one-on-one advice sessions, practical writing exercises and open, honest advice about how the book industry thinks.

There’s so much advice out there about how to get published, it can become overwhelming. As part of a new series of Golden Hare Masterclasses, take part in this small, intimate session and hear from current industry professionals and a writer who’s been through it all. You’ll also have your chance to speak to an agent and editor one-on-one, as well as take part in a fun, helpful writing exercise with our Writer-in-Residence. All in the surroundings of a cosy and friendly bookshop with like-minded people, no matter what stage of your writing career you’re at!

Spaces for this workshop are very limited to allow participants individual time with our speakers. Your ticket includes refreshments and a special 10% discount on related books for the evening.
