The acoustics are great so there’s no need for microphones, and we can comfortably seat around 20 people, with some standing room left.

We’re also happy to take our events elsewhere, and most recently have used the Saint Stephen Centre and Surgeon’s Hall. If you’ve got an event planned but are looking for a bookseller to run the book sales (and wine, if you like) then we’d love it if you’d also consider us for those events.

Unfortunately, Golden Hare Books is not accessible by wheelchair, though we hope to look into ways of rectifying this in the near future.[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”Books” el_id=”1476391123043-c4fbc51a-8538″]Once we’ve got an event planned, one of the main things to organise are the books! Golden Hare Books is available as a full-service bookseller from booksourcing to setting up displays and bookselling at events within the Edinburgh area.

Whether it’s an event with multiple authors or just going all out for one title, we’re happy to liaise with publishers and distributors to get hold of the books in plenty time. We’ll set up, display and sell books throughout the event.

Terms for event stock are ideally 50% sale-or-return.[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”Food & Wine” el_id=”1476391123196-e81913c3-c1b4″]What’s a literary event without wine? For all our events, Golden Hare uses local independent merchant Vino, which has a great selection of delicious wines. We usually like to split the wine bill in half with our co-organisers, but this can be negotiated!

Golden Hare owns glasses and can wash these at no charge as part of our hosting policy.[/vc_toggle][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_toggle title=”Event Notice” el_id=”1476391123518-0aba4c36-10e5″]Since Golden Hare Books schedules its events programme by season, the earlier you can enquire about hosting an event with us the better. Two months is the ideal notice time, but we will of course consider all event requests made.

[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”Ticketing” el_id=”1476391123680-f6500886-3ee2″]Golden Hare Books handles all ticket sales through the website whether the event is charged or free, but we are also happy to liaise with publishers’ or hosts’ own RSVP lists.

Golden Hare Books sometimes charges for events in order to meet wine, venue and staffing costs.[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”On The Day/Night” el_id=”1476391123852-922806b1-8c55″]Once everything’s arranged, all that needs to be done is to look forward to the event! If the event is at Golden Hare Books, we’ll make sure there’s plenty time to set up and space to leave belongings, etc. If the event is offsite, we’ll arrange a convenient time to come by with stock, wine etc, set up the event, and then take it all away again afterwards.[/vc_toggle][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][dhvc_form id=”822″][/vc_column][/vc_row]
