Join us at St Vincent's Chapel (just along the road from the shop) to hear local historian and author Barclay Price speak about his new book, A History of Stockbridge.
Barclay's book, A History of St Stephen Street, has been a bestseller at Golden Hare Books since it was first published, so we're thrilled to be helping him launch his latest title.

About A History of Stockbridge
This history of Stockbridge is published to coincide with the 200th anniversary of the death of Sir Henry Raeburn, one of Stockbridge’s most distinguished residents and a significant figure in the locality’s early development. The book is in two parts. The first recounts the history of Stockbridge’s growth from a small village to today’s thriving neighbourhood. The second contains 50 biographical sketches of Stockbridge residents spanning 250 years, each linked to a different street. Included alongside famous and infamous residents are many whose fascinating lives are little known or never previously recounted.
