The Queer Literary Salon

Pause for a moment and ask yourself, how many works of commercial or literary fiction have you read with a queer protagonist? Should queer characters, stories or themes be more mainstream, more accessible, more celebrated? Indeed is there a need or place for a Queer Canon?
We’re delighted to announce that our May Literary Salon – The Queer Canon will be exploring the place of queer fiction in its contemporary and historic setting, looking at those who engendered the genre and those writers still shaping it today. Edinburgh University professor Carole Jones will lead the discussion, alongside Scottish author Kirsty Logan – we’re sure there’ll be lots of lively debate and hope you’ll all come ready to
contribute!
If you have a particular angle on the topic or would like to read a published piece please let us know – the Golden Hare Salons are meant as forums for ideas and the chance to experience and explore new things!
Whether you’re an avid reader already or entirely new to the genre, join us for a glass of wine and some conversation – places are limited so do reserve a spot in store or on Eventbrite to avoid disappointment.
