Scottish gin is undergoing a massive revival, fuelled in part by the boom in small craft distilleries which have reinvigorated and transformed the gin market. Gin can be relatively simply produced - which enables craft gin distilleries across Scotland to create a refreshing range of boutique products, many of which are making some seriously big waves both in this corner of the world and beyond. And who can forget the initiative of Scottish distilleries as they created hand sanitiser from gin in the early days of the COVID-19 lockdown? Using vats of the world's strongest gin - along with soothing ingredients such as aloe vera - the team at Deeside Distillery were able to donate the sanitiser to local schools, foodbanks and GP surgeries.
