Shipping & Returns
Any items purchased online from Golden Hare Books are available for free pick up in-store during our opening hours. However, if you aren't lucky enough to live in beautiful Edinburgh, but you'd still like to shop with Golden Hare - we can deliver your books to you! Just select the relevant option at checkout.
Please read the following information before placing your order for delivery with us.
UK delivery:
Single greetings card or gift voucher: £1.50 postage and packing.
Order value from £1 to £5: £1.50 postage and packing.
Order value from £5.01 to £35: £5 postage and packing.
Order value over £35: £8 postage and packing.
If your order is particularly large/heavy we may need to contact you to ask you to cover the delivery charge with our reliable couriers, but this will never be at any more than cost price.

UK 1st class: 1 - 2 working days
UK 2nd class: 3 - 5 working days
International deliveries:
Europe, sent by Royal Mail International Standard
Order value from £1 to £10: £8 postage and packing.
Order value from £10.01 to £20: £11 postage and packing.
Order value over £20: £16 postage and packing.
As a result of Brexit, orders shipped to EU countries may be subject to local VAT charges, payable to the courier company at the time of delivery. These charges are applied at different rates in different countries, and may include an administration fee added by the courier. We cannot take responsibility for any extra charges.
North America, sent by Royal Mail International Standard
Order value from £1 to £10: £12 postage and packing.
Order value from £10.01 to £20: £22 postage and packing.
Order value over £20: £30
Rest of the World
Order value of £1 to £25: £23 postage and packing.
Order value over £25: £30 postage and packing.
Delivery terms:
Orders (except subscriptions such as PostBooks) will be dispatched as soon as possible on working days. If you are ordering as a gift, let us know and we will not include the receipt. We can include a handwritten card, please provide your message at checkout, or email us at mail@goldenharebooks.com. Please let us know if you would like any items gift wrapped (at no extra charge). Please ensure you provide a full delivery address; Golden Hare Books cannot be held responsible for wrongly delivered items due to incorrect/incomplete addresses.
Returns:
We hope you are happy with your purchase, but if you change your mind you have 14 days from receipt to return or exchange your item. Goods must be unused and in original packaging. We cannot accept returns on gift vouchers, and workshop places are non-refundable. Any customised or special orders are also non-refundable.

You can also drop off the item in person at the above address. We recommend you package securely and insure the item for returning by post. We cannot be held responsible for items that go missing or get damaged in the post. Once we have received the item in good condition we will issue a refund to the original payment method. P&P costs are non-refundable.
If an item you receive is faulty, damaged or poor quality you must notify us within 24 hours of receipt with images. Please send this notification via email to mail@goldenharebooks.com. Once we have reviewed your complaint we will replace the item or issue a refund.
